KVO Collections likes to name jewelry after special women. However, this week we are changing it up and focusing on this man! I am honored to tell you about Ahmad Mickens. Ahmad is special. He is a true inspiration with the work that he does. Ahmad owns a gym in Stamford, CT called Revolution Training that specializes in boxing and personal training. One of his programs is a youth boxing program which provides the youth of Stamford and surrounding towns a safe and constructive environment to spend after school and during the summer time. He is a solid male role model for the kids who are in the program and also for those who use his gym as well. Through this boxing program, he teaches kids about keeping their word, about discipline, about concentration and focus, about sportsmanship, and taking pride in what they do. I met Ahmad about 8 years ago when I was looking for a different kind of fitness training and he helped me through a time when I was having bad back issues. Not only did he help me get stronger physically but he helped me get better mentally as well. I would call him a very “wise old man” even though he is not old and I am not sure he would appreciate that! Seriously, though, he is someone who is kind, smart, and lives with purpose. Ahmad is a person with integrity, passion, dedication, love in his heart, and I have never met anyone who leads more by example than Ahmad. He is an amazing dad (pictured here with his kids) and is always giving back to his community.
